Accompanied by Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, Prime Minister Rama saw first-hand the premises of this hospital, where he was informed by the doctors about the benefits of the sterilization process.

Rama emphasized that “this guaranteed a whole new standard of safety for surgical interventions, turning the page on disgrace and uncertainty in the operating rooms once and for all, reducing to a minimum the old phenomenon of post-operative infections due to the lack of genuine sterilization, as well as saving the state budget tens of millions of euros by reducing the post-surgery stay in hospitals.”
Prime Minister saw upfront the old instruments that were used for surgical interventions before the concession of sterilization.

“These old instruments are reminiscent of the story of that partisan whose wounded leg was cut off with a saw. I wish I could come here time and again here to draw attention to the confusion triggered amid the investigation of the procedure and the company concerned. The great benefit that the system has received is one thing and bringing to justice those individuals who may have secretly taken advantage is another,” Rama said.

“In the meantime, one of the things that is very evident today, which has been validated by a person who is very critical of us, Irena Beqiraj, our former Deputy Minister of Finance. One of the calculations that Irena made completely independently from us confirms what we have said. Only the reduction of the post-surgery in the hospital has brought about a financial profitability that is higher than all the total expenditure incurred by this process and all the general cost foreseen for the process in question,” he emphasized.
