“The clear proof of this is the management of the last event where police showed high professionalism, maturity and prudence worthy of admiration. An unprecedented situation in the civilized world, absurd in reason, primitive in manner and brutal in execution. A situation where it was difficult to draw the line between where the right to protest ended, where the right to freely exercise political activity ended, and the obligation to prevent and avert any criminal consequences against persons or property. And I am proud to say that the police showed and proved that they possess a high level of professionalism. Congratulations!, ” the Minister of Interior said.

“Today, we stand here to commemorate this marked day for the country and every citizen, the creation of one of the key institutions of every society, that of the State Police. The long 109-year history of the State Police, which is related to the centenary existence of our state, is a history filled with challenges, difficulties, pain but also successes, results and extraordinary victories. Every historical moment has its challenges but also its opportunities for the society, which are almost automatically reflected in the State Police. Today, our country, like any other country, is constantly confronted with the situation of a global pandemic, a situation which, of course, is being managed by the State Police as one of the actors in the front line of this battle with 33 lives lost to this invisible enemy, ” stressed Çuçi.

“Today’s anniversary is also a tribute to every police officer who has fallen in the line of this duty. I bow down in respect and gratitude before the sacrifice of 225 stars, 225 martyrs of the homeland, who sacrificed themselves in the line of duty, in the service of the nation. I cannot help but recall the pain of their family members whom I take the opportunity to reassure that they will never be alone. And we have already guaranteed this with the law passed only two months ago in the Albanian Parliament for the Children in Care of the Republic, ” said Çuçi.
