TIRANA, Feb 26 /ATA/ The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, on Monday underlined the need for a single market of Southeast Europe that attracts international investment and attention.

Gonxhja delivered his greeting remarks at the “Keiretsu” Southeast European forum, which brought Launchub and Vitosha Ventures to Tirana, with an investment portfolio of 100 million euros.

This meeting marked a key moment for startup investors, where partnership acts as a catalyst for transformation.

“Co-investment opportunities not only mean a pooling of resources, but also a shared commitment to nurturing startups, both locally and globally. By expanding our investment horizons, we pave the way for the revitalization of innovation and the economy”, said Gonxhja.

In Albania and beyond in the region, he emphasized, startups often find themselves at a critical moment, grappling with a funding gap that threatens their growth potential.

“Angel” investors come across as silent heroes, bridging this gap and providing not only capital, but also a solid foundation on which startups can build and advance.

“The power of angel investors extends beyond financial support. Their networks and expertise serve as a guide for startups in the early stages, pushing them forward in their journey”, said the minister.

According to Minister Gonxhja, this forum served as a platform, helping towards the vision of a single market that attracts investment and international attention, and promoting and strengthening the collective voice of Southeast Europe on the global stage.

“The Albanian government is proud of the active and leading role in the strategic support of this sector at the vanguard of modernization. Furthermore, the event shed light on the untapped talent pool within the Western Balkans, highlighting the region’s potential and establishing it as a cradle for innovation and energetic entrepreneurship. With 9 unicorns and over 10 more in development, Southeast Europe stands poised in the run-up to a transformative era where high-value startups redefine the economic landscape. The Keiretsu SEE Forum serves as a catalyst for this evolution, heralding the rise of Southeast Europe’s unicorns and cementing the region’s status as a genuine innovation powerhouse,” the minister said.
