An event at the Albanian Postage Stamp Museum in Tirana brought together car and old items collectors and vintage car lovers.

The post stamp collections featuring automotive theme is part of the continued efforts by the General Directorate of the Road Transport Service and the Albanian post to honour and celebrate various aspects of the national culture and heritage.

“The vintage cars selected to be featured on the stamps are the ones with longest influence on history of the Albanian motoring,” the Road Transport Service said in a release.

The stamps in this rare collection feature the classical vintage models like the FIAT, the first car brand to enter Albania, namely the Fiat 508 C “Balilla 1100” (Fiat 1100), once used by the communist dictator Enver Hoxha during the World War II; DNEPR M-72 bucket side motorcycle part of the army motorized convoys; GAZ-69 truck part of the Albanian army; ZIS 110 Soviet limousine which was part of the fleet of vehicles of the Delegation Park; Fiat 900T that was used by the communist-era police.

The stamps collection also features other retro cars and trucks like Skoda 701MT, 706 RTO, which used to serve as public transport vehicle in Albania, as well as fire truck JIEFANG CA10 for the Albanian army.

The rare collection of stamps featuring automotive themes will be up for sale at the Albanian post office all over the country.
