TIRANA, July 20 /ATA/ The DP MP, Jorida Tabaku, appreciated the work done by the Supreme State Audit, adding that the report published by this institution provided the groundwork for the investigation by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office of the Incinerators file.

During the discussions on the Supreme State Audit report, Tabaku underlines that anyone who continues to remain silent and pays the incinerators continues to be part of this crime and embezzlement of the state budget!” said Tabaku.
The DP MP started off her remarks with the issue brought up by medical students.

“Regrettably, the last session of the parliament closes with the protest of the medical students against the abusive law that is going through the parliament. Today it is unfortunate that they are powerless to change the reality, even to join the discussions about a law that affects them,” said Tabaku.

“Regarding the discussion of the Supreme State Audit report, I thank the head of the SSA for the report he presented and for the timely findings. The SSA report has provided the groundwork for SPAK’s investigation and charges. The report has proven that in at least two cases Arben Ahmetaj and Erion Veliaj have breached the procedures, abused the state budget, committed more funds than needed from the state budget for the incinerator affair and in particular for the one in Tirana,” Tabaku said.

“When we ask what a captured state is, we have this in mind. This parliament has changed the budget for incinerators, as Ahmetaj and Veliaj have stated that the funds have been allocated in the budget. The socialist colleagues have come and raised the cards to change the budget, they have changed the law on public procurement, the law on concessions to protect the procedural changes undertaken by Ahmetaj. I hoped that some of their voices would distance themselves and this has not happened yet,” Tabaku said.

“In the last session of December, I raised concerns about the use and absorption of IPARD funds by the Ministry of Agriculture, where I engaged in a debate with the minister. The structures of the Albanian government have started an accreditation process since 2010. They were ready in 2013, but only in 2018 they were certified to make this payment and to continue independently”, said Tabaku.
“What happened yesterday has disgraced the institution of ARDA and has severely damaged its image. I don’t know how much is the payment for which the Albanian government is being accused, but it would be in the honor of the minister and the government to provide transparency on how a pyramid scheme was created with several companies involved in an investigation that has been going on for 4 years and evidence have been collected for 2 years and the Albanian government has been oblivious to it,” said Tabaku.
