The meeting focused on strengthening of support for guaranteeing fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens through the implementation of legislation.

The Commissioner gave a snapshot of the regulatory framework in the areas of activity, both the existing one and the work for its modernization. With regard to the latter, the discussion touched on modalities for strengthening the cooperation with institutions responsible for expediting the process of legal amendments in line with the European standards.

Interlocutors also focused on issues of strengthening the administrative capacities of the authority to address the problems identified over the years and to respond to economic and social development.

The two also appreciated the cooperative initiatives for consolidating the culture of transparency and accountability of the Public Authorities in order to continuously improve the services and guarantee the participation of the citizens in good governance.
