It was March 28, 1976, when the renowned tenor Haxhi Tafaj won the Folk Song Festival with the song ‘Albania, you never grow old’, composed by Tish Daija.

ATA publishes a photograph of Haxhi Tafaj (1925–2005), one of the distinguished voices of the Albanian stage. Tafaj was among the founding members of the State Choir and later served as a soloist at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet until 1976.

Tafaj represented Albania on international stages in Berlin, Bucharest, Warsaw and elsewhere, delivering acclaimed performances in roles from Albanian and global operas, as well as folk songs, romances and ballads.
