The newly-built venues are attracting a range of events and tournaments across a variety of youth sports.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media on Saturday to post share new sports complexes in the municipality of Kamez, Tirana district, saying “these are the venues for young people who love football.”

The government head underlined that a series of investment projects are already underway on construction of more sports venues in Shkodër, Lezhë, Lushnjë, Fier, Roskovec and Berat.

Central government and local authorities are supporting construction of outdoor and indoor youth sports complexes and facilities across the capital city and throughout Albania in a bid to encourage young people engage in sports and physical activities.

The new sports venues have been also designed to host various national and regional sports tournaments.

Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj participated in a basketball game with the youth of the Galactic King – Tirana Basket teams in the new sports fields, while stressing that, this is another promise kept to provide the students and the community of the area with a new school.

The creation of new sports fields, which can be used by the residents of the area in the afternoon and during the weekend, has aroused the interest of young people to enroll in sports teams.

“There are about 68 organizations that have taken from a field, or from a gym. I’m glad that for the first time the young people are joining team sports, such as in basketball or volleyball.The building of all these fields throughout the territory of Tirana, is good news,” mayor Veliaj said.

At a time when Tirana is making preparations ahead of the events in view of Tirana European Youth Capital 2022, the mayor of Tirana Veliaj stated that, next year over 1000 activities are due to be organized. //a.i/

Prime Minister Edi Rama posed a question to his followers on instastory on the social network Instagram, in the section “100 days, 100 achievements” – How many sports fields and gyms have been built and reconstructed in the education system in recent years, 26 or 62?

“Since 2013, 62 sports fields and gyms have been built and reconstructed in the pre-university education system over the past 8 years,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

In recent years, the construction and reconstruction of sports fields and gyms have been the main focus of the Albanian government, turning the school into a community center. //a.i/
