Spiropali spoke about the achievements during implementation of the first Strategic Plan of the Assembly 2020-2025 and shared some of the issues that have been included in the draft of the new Strategic Plan of the Assembly 2025-2030.

“The Strategic Plan 2025-2030 is a clear vision that reflects Albania as a member of the European Union. Albania’s membership in the European Union by 2030 is an ambitious, but entirely achievable objective, if we consider the speed of this process and the depth of the reforms, measures and actions we have undertaken recently, such as holding the second and third Albania-EU intergovernmental meetings and opening negotiations for Chapters I-Fundamentals and VI-Foreign and Security Policy. The Parliament’s Strategy 2025-2030 is part of our measures to achieve this objective and the Parliament must be up to the mark that this challenge presents. We are working so that at the end of the next legislature, the Parliament of Albania will be the parliament of a member state of the European Union”, said Spiropali.

During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Assembly Genci Gjonçaj made a presentation and detailed some of the objectives of the Strategic Plan of the Assembly 2025-2030.

Gjonçaj emphasized that the final goal is to achieve a document that reflects the contribution of all factors, analyzes data and best practices of partner countries, ensuring that this plan addresses both challenges and opportunities.

The ambassadors present underlined their commitment to continue working on strengthening democratic governance, increasing institutional effectiveness, and building a parliament that is transparent, inclusive, and ready to face the challenges of Albania’s EU membership journey.

At the end of the meeting, Spiropali announced that the consultation process of the final draft of the new Strategic Plan of the Assembly will continue with Parliamentary groups, the media, civil society, and various stakeholders in society. /j.p/p.s./
