In a press release of SPAK, it is stated that during this period, 12 criminal reports were submitted, of which for 5 reports it was decided not to start investigations.

“7 criminal proceedings have been registered, of which 2 proceedings for criminal offenses related to organized crime and 5 proceedings for criminal offenses related to corruption. 3 criminal proceedings with 26 defendants have been sent for trial, of which, 2 proceedings with 25 defendants for criminal offenses related to organized crime and one proceeding with one defendant for criminal offenses related to corruption,” the press release states.

Also, based on the requests submitted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, a measure of personal security against a person under investigation was approved by the Special Court.

SPAK submitted on Wednesday to the Special Court of First Instance for Organized Crime and Corruption the request for confiscation of assets of Armand Marku and Gerti Marku.

In accordance with the anti-mafia law, SPAK has conducted a property investigation regarding the assets owned by citizens Armand Marku and Gerti Marku, as well as their close family members.

Investigations have found that Armand Marku has been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana, after a Milan court sentenced him to 6 years in prison for the criminal offenses “Narcotics Trafficking” and “Cooperation in Crime”, provided by the Italian Penal Code.
