TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, participated on Saturday in the launch of the Manifesto of the SP Women’s Forum.

This manifesto was drawn up through an inclusive process involving the forum’s women and girls from all municipalities countrywide, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation.

In the remarks held at this activity, Balluku said that although the highlight of this manifesto is empowerment of women in politics, this avenue has been exhausted by the SP.

“We need to talk about everything else today, such as verbal violence, domestic violence, equality and merit-based system, but involvement in politics, which for the SP is an exhausted phase, in my opinion. I often think that the time has come to pay attention to the men of the SP, who have to cope with the repression of women at all levels, from the government with women holding the overwhelming majority to the parliamentary group where women play a crucial role, ” said Balluku.

Balluku said that the SP in this direction should also be a role model for other European countries.
Balluku emphasized that this manifesto phrases in the best possible way the tasks of the women who join the SP, who now must fight strongly for the economic empowerment of women and girls in Albania.
