According to the press release of the HJC, the participants discussed the results and challenges of the HJC institution, as well as the entire judicial system as a whole, not only in the light of justice reform but also during the challenging times of the global COVID 19 pandemic.

The interlocutors discussed the efforts of the HJC to fill in the vacancies on the High Court and take efficiency measures through the discussion and approval of the draft proposal for the new court map in order to ensure the functionality of the courts of appeal and those of the first instance.

At the end of this meeting, Ambassador Soreca briefed Llagami on the new technical assistance mechanisms that EUD will implement in the near future with the aim of provide dedicated support to independent justice institutions.

For his part, ambassador Soreca in a posting on “Twitter” said that EU continues to support the work of HJC.
