TIRANA, September 11/ATA/ Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj stated today that the upcoming housing law package will provide 7,000 apartments and 4,000 soft loans for families and young professionals.

In a statement to the media after the government meeting, Ibrahimaj said that 2 thousand loans will be zero-interest and will be given to young professionals and young couples for the purchase of apartments worth up to 60 thousand euros.

Ibrahimaj emphasized that the government plans to offer extra housing aid to young families with children because the current €60,000 limit makes it hard to buy larger apartments.

“In this context, 3 thousand apartments will be made available, which will be financed through soft loans with a fixed interest rate of 3%. We want to pursue a new policy for all young families with one or more children, where 3 thousand apartments will be made available with a soft loan and a fixed interest rate of 3%”, said Minister Ibrahimaj.

Ibrahimaj underlined that a newly created National Housing Fund will subsidize the interest rate differences for zero-interest and 3% fixed-rate loans.

Further on, Ibrahimaj said that the government plans to subsidize rents for 3 thousand apartments, expanding the scheme beyond the needy.

She said that beneficiaries will also be young families, newly graduated professionals and young couples who choose to live in another city, or who, after completing their studies in the capital, decide to return to their place of residence.

Minister Ibrahimaj highlighted that, “More than 80% of Albanian citizens live in homes they own, which, according to her, shows the importance that housing has for the safety and well-being of families”.

Besides, Ibrahimaj announced plans to build several new housing blocks using the ’30-40-30′ model.

“The development allocates 30% of its units to social housing for disadvantaged individuals, 40% to affordable options for middle-class families, and the remaining 30% to the open market”, emphasized Ibrahimaj. /k.s/a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, June 24 /ATA/ – An initial group of 45 health professionals will benefit under a soft loan program launched recently to provide doctors, nurses and other health workers with affordable financing through bank loans at zero interest rate, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu said on Monday.

Health Minister announced that “the quota have been adopted for the first 45 health professionals entitled to affordable financing through bank loans at zero interest rate under the soft housing loans program approved by the Council of Ministers.”

Last week, the Council of Ministers approved a total quota of 300 housing loans designed to help priority categories of public administration employees.

A soft housing loans program for young families of doctors, servicemen and State Police officers has been launched this year as an expression of the government’s direct support and commitment to providing decent and quality appreciation for the contribution and service from this workers group.

The mortgage subsidy program, which is being implemented for the first time in Albania this year, has been made available through specific legal changes and will be handled via the web-based e-Albania platform in collaboration with second-tier banks, is designed to help to make home ownership more affordable by providing zero interest rate loans to the eligible categories. The interest rates will be fully subsidized by the state budget.
