TIRANA, March 7/ATA/ Socialist Party candidate Erisleda Sefa has been declared the winner of Lushnja municipality.

In a statement to the media from Lushnja, after the counting of votes, the political leader of the SP in the region of Fier Taulant Balla thanked the people of Lushnja for this vote of confidence.

“Now, there is no need for any comment, but we need to get Lushnja people respect through work. There are a lot of big construction sites ahead. The works will start immediately to meet all the commitments we have taken to every administrative unit and the city of Lushnja “, said Balla.

He wished Eriselda Sefa success in this important vote of confidence.

“I believe that we agree that the turnout has been low in all 6 municipalities, we expected a little more participation, but yesterday was a difficult day in regard to weather conditions “, he said.

While Sefa said that, “The door of the municipality will be open for everyone, even for those citizens who supported the other alternative, will find an open institution in the municipality of Lushnja”, she said.

Until the counting of 156 polling stations out of 157 in total, the SP candidate Eriselda Sefa leads with 21 309 votes, or 58.75% of the votes.

The candidate of the Coalition “House of Freedom” Elton Bano received 11,171 votes, or 30.8% of the votes, and Indrit Sefa of the Democratic Party received 3,792 votes, or 10.45% of the votes. /m.m//a.a/p.s./

TIRANA, January 15/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that, “Politics remains inalienable and irreplaceable for co-existence between people, peace, security and economic and social progress, but politics should not be allowed in any way to become the monopoly of the politicians.”

On the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Youth Forum of the Euro-socialists (FRESSH), Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered a greeting message today to the Youth Congress of the Socialist Party, which is holding its proceedings at the Amphitheatre of the Grand Park in Tirana.

Addressing the youth, PM Rama said that for many of them, politics sounds like a hateful word.

He added that, “But, politics is the only opportunity for collective orientation, which we humans inherit from the history of mankind.”

While addressing those who refuse to listen to politics, PM Rama explained that politics deals with them anyway and decides for them.

Further on, he said that, “Politics gave people the opportunity to give and take with each other and to address the issues of their co-existence and to deal with the solution of common problems”.

“Whoever claims not to deal with politics and doesn’t care about politics is lying to himself because he does not understand that politics deals with him anyway. Political decisions affect him anyway and condition his activity in every context where man lives. Politics enters your life without authorization. They are wrong when they think that getting involved in politics means being one of those whom we see on television, social networks, and podiums. They are wrong when we turn our backs on politics because of this narrow point of view and it makes politics a target of contempt, especially among young people,” PM Rama said.

While speaking about the democratic changes of the ’90s, PM Rama said that, “If it were for the then politicians of the time, the political change of Albania would never have happened and if professors and students had not been involved in politics”.

Further on, he reminded that, “I was one of them. I used to teach at the Academy of Arts and had no political ambitions. The freedom I gained was enough for me and I continued my life as a creator, as an artist, while I was involved in politics as a free citizen. Why did I get involved with politics at the time? It was because politics was the cause of the terrible limitations of my life as an artist. Those restrictions were a nightmare for our entire community at the Academy of Arts. What could I do alone against those restrictions? I did not want to take up politics, but art. While politics dealt with me putting limits on my art. Only through change of policy together with the others I could get rid of these restrictions. Through fighting for a common good, I could gain creative freedom”, said Rama.

He stressed that, “The sense of politics is freedom.”/p.s./

TIRANA, August 27 /ATA/ Chairman of the ruling Socialist Party and Prime Minister Edi Rama convened today at the Palace of Brigades the two Parliamentary groups of the Socialist Party of the second governance mandate and the third mandate that came out of the April 25 general elections.

The prime minister highlighted the extraordinary privilege of a political force voted by the people to lead Albania for a third mandate.

PM Rama emphasized that the Socialists are still one team and the change of roles are only in function of the team that will materialize the vision of the SP for Albania

The prime minister expressed grateful thanks for the MPs and government officials of the second mandate that faced extraordinary events like the earthquake, the pandemic, but even the destructive role of the opposition that burnt the mandates.

These people, said the prime minister, will still be involved in the big works of the government and the party adding new energy to the governance.

Rama mentioned the two coming goals of the party, the local elections 2023 and the next Parliamentary elections of 2025. He reminded the saying, “You reap what you sow”, and he appealed on everybody to work even in the third mandate that will be the most difficult in reconfirming the SP as governance force in the next four years.

“The third mandate will be a very big challenge in itself. If in the first mandate, we brought Albania out of the pit where our rivals had put it, in the second we laid solid foundations for growth in every sector, and in this third mandate we shall start climbing higher, towards that peak where we love Albania at the end of this decade. It’s easy to say, but without a doubt much more difficult to do. And above all the most difficult thing is finding the strength within yourself, after a great victory, to understand how essential it is to change yourself, to correct yourself, to further self-develop”, said PM Rama.

While affirming the team that will lead the country over the next 4 years, PM Rama demanded the commitment of all to fight nepotism and clientelism.

Rama added that, “Here is the leading team of the Socialist Party, this is the leading team of the country in the next 4 years. This is the team that will give direction to many jobs that will be found and respond to every citizen in need”.

He added that the SP will never be the refuge of those exposed by the judiciary as illegal beneficiaries of public goods.

The third term should be a defining time phase of the country’s development and anti-corruption at every level of administration, said the prime minister.

Rama emphasized that, “The third mandate should be a defining time of the country’s development, where the further cleansing of the justice system, the independent work of the new justice bodies in the fight against corruption should be accompanied by a frontal offensive of this ruling majority itself against corruption at every level of the administration”./p.s./
