The minister informed that the meeting focused on creation of a sub-regional political and technical platform for implementation of comprehensive smoke-free policies.

During the meeting, Koçiu emphasized Albania’s intention to adhere to the Protocol for Elimination of Illegal Trade in Tobacco Products, also recommended by the EU.

Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla started the session with the discussions of the MPs about the concerns of the citizens, but in the hall they threw smoke firecrackers.

Nikola ordered the suspension of opposition MP Flamur Noka.

Socialist MPs have proceeded with the agenda, but the situation of smoke and blocking of the rostrum made it impossible to continue the session.

For weeks in the Assembly, the opposition MPs do not allow the normal development of plenary sessions and committees while demanding the establishment of three investigative commissions. Meanwhile, the Socialist Party lawmakers have filed a draft law in the Assembly demanding the amendment of the law on the establishment of investigative commissions./p.s./
