They represent 67% of the economy and 81% of employment.

They account for 99.9% of total businesses, while make 71% of total investments.

The President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), Enio Jaço, referring to these indicators published by the World Bank, states that the time has come to invest more in their modernization and growth.

Jaço emphasizes that SMEs should be supported with access to finance, technical assistance and European standards.
