Prime Minister Edi Rama shared a view of the construction site today, describing the project as a strategic investment that will connect Shala with Tropoja through the Ndermaja Pass.

This investment will create a new connecting corridor between alpine areas, facilitating the movement of residents and visitors, as well as increasing the potential for the development of tourism and the local economy.

The implementation of this project is expected to increase accessibility to one of the most special mountain tourism destinations in the country, contributing to the sustainable development of local communities and the promotion of the Albanian Alps as a tourist destination throughout the year. /e.i/j.p/p.s./

The Hammam of Durrës reopened its doors on Friday, offering visitors a chance to experience the rich history and cultural diversity of Albania.

Located near to the iconic Venetian Tower, the Hammam is one of the 15 cultural heritage sites which have been fully renovated through the EU4Culture programme, while work ongoing at 8 additional sites.

The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, who attended the inauguration ceremony, said that the site is as a testament to the country’s religious, social and culture diversity.

“Albania is an excellent example of this coexistence between people with different traditions. This is also what the EU stands for, people with diverse cultures and traditions living together in harmony,” EU Ambassador stated.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media photos of the construction site of the New National Theater.

“The construction site of the New National Theater has entered a new phase that now enables a faster pace, to materialize the project of the Danish architect, Bjarke Ingels and his prestigious BIG studio, adding to Tirana not only the theater of European standards, but also another jewel of contemporary European architecture”, wrote Rama.

The new theater will have an auditorium space of 750 square meters and over 600 seats, with a balcony. There will also be a theater stage of 630 square meters and two Black Box halls of 200 square meters each.

For the artists, there will be a space of 200 square meters that will be used as a changing room, a rehearsal room of 200 square meters, toilets and showers as well as a green room.

In the service of various artistic performances, there will be a room for musical instruments, a warehouse for stage materials, a warehouse for decorations, a technical hall, etc. There will also be a lecture hall and all facilities for the public. /k.s/a.f/p.s./

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from this site in the social media, while emphasizing that the new facility within this center will be turned into a state-of-the-art space for driving simulators.

Also, according to him, the training ground will be a meeting point for educational activities with young people, as well as a professional training station for the Driving Permits sector.

“This new multidimensional work that extends over an area of about 6,000 m2, will also serve for road safety educational programs, traffic corner hours and additional educational activities,” wrote Rama.

The investment in this training ground aims to establish transparent testing standards and maneuver safety conditions, but also to create a futuristic education and training center for those interested in exercises and tests of the digital age. /m.m/r.e/p.s./

Minister of Culture Elva Margariti gave the news through a post on social networks, where she stated that this new construction site is part of the EU4Culture Albania program.

The Archaeological Museum is a source of international archaeological significance. Considering the existing conditions, the building suffered damages in many locations due to the earthquake. In some locations, the supporting structure has been affected.

The facade, windows and interior surfaces also suffered minor damage. The general lack of maintenance is also evident everywhere, especially on the upper floors and the back and outside areas.

A ceremony marked the special collaboration between the United States, Albania, and Sweden after the devastating November 2019 earthquake.

With support from the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) totaling $800,000, the U.S. Embassy has funded the restoration of important cultural monuments in Albania and  each monument has required immediate emergency stabilization, intricate conservation methods, and extensive reconstruction.

“We invite you to join us in admiring the newly restored Preza Castle, which was unveiled today in a ceremony honoring the contributions of the AFCP and all other stakeholders who supported these efforts,” the U.S. Embassy said in a release.

Ambassador Kim joined Minister of Culture Elva Margariti, Deputy Culture Minister Meri Kumbe, Swedish Deputy Chief of Mission Petra Burcher, Elena Mamani and the Cultural Heritage without Borders team to celebrate the renovated castle towers and pay tribute to the amazing partnerships that made it possible.

“Congratulations to the dedicated architects, engineers, and historians who made this project so successful. The history and legacy of the Preza Castle will continue to educate and inspire future generations who will visit this beautiful landmark,” Ambassador Kim said in her remarks.

The Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, a programme launched by the U.S. Department of State,  has not only funded the restoration of other cultural sites affected by the earthquake, but throughout the years, it has supported the restoration, conservation, and documentation of many important monuments and parts of Albania’s cultural heritage.

More than 11 impressive projects have been implemented through this program to preserve Albania’s wonderful culture.

“Here’s a view from the construction site of the new town of Thumana, where the colossal work of reconstruction speaks for itself”, said Rama.

In Thumana, a completely rebuilt town is taking shape, just like the best European neighbourhoods, already with new houses and blocks of flats and all the necessary community infrastructure.

The town of Thumana in the municipality of Kruja, one of the areas most affected by the November 26 earthquake, has entered the final stage of the Reconstruction process, with both individual houses and collective housing. 14 blocks of flats and 156 individual houses are expected to be ready by the end of the current year for all residents who lost their homes on the tragic night that hit the area hard./m.m/j.p/p.s./

Mayor of Kavaja Redjan Krali posted today some photos in the social media from the reconstruction sites in Kavaja.

The mayor emphasized that the new neighborhood, on which there is work underway will soon be full of life.

According to him, there will be not only blocks of flats in this reconstructed neighborhood.

There will also be service units, common areas and infrastructure with the best standards, for all residents who will be accommodated here.

PM underlined that reconstruction project will improve the quality of community life either.

“The relocation of institutions, such as the General Directorate of Taxes and Customs, the French school of technology and other offices and businesses to this neighborhood transform the area beyond recognition. All we need to do right now is work day and night, three shifts, to accelerate the rate of works, ” said Rama.
