Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage this morning from the construction site on the Shirokë–Zogaj segment, where work continues on widening the road, installing drainage systems, and other infrastructure elements.

Through a social media post, Rama stated that “this is an infrastructure investment that paves the way for new development opportunities for Shkodra.”

This project is an integral component of the ongoing interventions aimed at upgrading road infrastructure and optimizing traffic flow within the tourism corridors of the Shkodra region.

The Shirokë–Zogaj roadway constitutes a critical segment within the strategic investment framework along the western shoreline of Lake Shkodra. The upgrade is projected to stimulate regional tourism development and improve connectivity and infrastructure accessibility for adjacent local communities.
The road corridor stretches for 6.5 kilometers, with the initial 4.5 kilometers dedicated to expanding the existing road along the lakeshore.

The Shirokë–Zogaj segment, along with the bypass through the center of Zogaj village, constitute two key junctions that facilitate traffic flow, positioning Zogaj as a significant tourism and economic corridor with regional influence.
