“Today we held an expanded meeting of the cabinet members with mayors and the heads of a number of agencies tasked with functioning of the local government and we discussed a series of important topics, which comprise the reference points for the for the further progress of the EU accession process, since it is a process that, as I have already said and you should not be upset if you will hear me repeat it frequently, requires commitment, requires persistence and requires results from everyone, not from government only,” PM Rama told reporters.

“Because it is not the government one to integrate into the EU, but it is Albania. This means that the government performance is important, but it does just a part of the job, just like Parliament, the judiciary, local government, the private sector and the media do their share in this process,” he stated.

“In a nutshell, we need to speed up the pace, speed up the governance modernization at both levels, and enhance quality of the human capital,” he added.
