Speaking in a televised interview after the first joint cabinet session in Rome, the government head said the venture is projected to generate 400 million euros annually by 2031.

Rama highlighted that the project forms part of broader agreements reached during the first Albania-EU intergovernmental meeting, strengthening cooperation in defense, security, and industrial development.

On bilateral defense and migration issues, Rama emphasized that Albania currently faces no significant illegal migration in its waters but remains active in combating trafficking.

He described the partnership with Italy as a strategic move that enhances Albania’s international reputation and provides long-term economic benefits, noting that the country has not incurred immediate costs from the agreement.

The Premier framed the initiative as an example of Albania’s ability to be “in the right place at the right time” in international partnerships.
