TIRANA, March 27/ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection Albana Koçiu stated today that the partnership between the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center (QSUNT) and Sheba Medical Center encourages cooperation for a more advanced healthcare system.

According to Koçiu, “This partnership, with a focus on reorganization of the oncology service, hospital management and building capacities through continuous training for doctors and nurses, is an added guarantee for better quality treatment of our patients.”

“Accompanied by 15 doctors of the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center, we visited Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, one of the 10 most advanced hospital centers in the world. Together with the heads of Sheba Medical Center, with whom we signed a strategic partnership in November last year, we discussed the progress of our common objectives. We talked about the restructuring of the oncology service, the creation of multidisciplinary teams that determine personalized and efficient treatments for everyone, as well as the modernization of equipment or treatment protocols,” Koçiu wrote in a post in the social media.

The minister added that the talks also focused on the efficient management of patients, with a focus on reducing waiting lists.

“We took concrete steps to build our human and professional capacities through periodic exchange of experiences. In Albania, we have begun to see the results of this very important partnership for us, but I am sure that in the coming months this partnership will help open a new chapter of much higher standards for all Albanian citizens”, said Koçiu. /a.f/p.s./
