“I was very pleased to present the concrete steps taken by Albania in this coherent approach,” said Ekonomi.
Ekonomi pointed out that, “the mechanisms used by the Albanian government to gain an insight into the perception of citizens and their opinion on future policies and interventions have worked out successfully such as; National counseling and the drafting of VKM (CoM decision) in support of unemployed mothers paying their social insurance contributions until the youngest child turns 5 years.”

Also, Ekonomi added, “the initiative from the “Co-Governance” to reduce the weight of children’s bags in primary school by doing one subject in two hours. Online services, being improved and reengineered on the basis of “life events”. But also other services that are carefully reconsidered by the municipalities.”

“SIGMA/OECD has rated highly Albania for the Principles of Good Governance and Public Administration for a period of four years. Following the assessment according to 52 indicators consisting of more than 340 individual sub-indicators, SIGMA ranked Albania as a ‘lead performer’ in the Western Balkans region,” Ekonomi said.
