The figures have been announced by the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (FSDKSH), while the latter has appealed for heart care.

“7 334 cardiological and cardiosurgical procedures are 100% funded by DIFKSH during 11 months of 2021”, states DIFKSH.

According to FSDKSH, 3,117 angiographies, 599 cardiac surgical procedures, 663 pacemakers / Angioplasty and 2 955 Angiography / Angioplasty procedures were performed.

The specialized medical service designed to meet the needs of each patient and the financing of health packages continue apace with 100% funding from FSDKSH.

The Cardiology package is just one of the 12 health packages that citizens access free of charge near their place of residence.

The cardiac surgery service in the “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital has become a reality, complementing the service in Tirana University Hospital Centre. Citizens will have two opportunities to receive services, faster, better, more quality services. Opening a second cardiac surgery ward was beyond all imagination, but today it has become a reality “, said Manastirliu.

Minister of Health said that with the opening of the new ward in the “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital the cardiac surgeries will increase up to 30 percent.
Prof. Rezar Deveja said that this ward will be of paramount importance for cardiac surgery patients.

“We are glad that at the end of this year we opened the second cardiac surgery service in Albania. The purpose of this ward is to offer quality and timely service to patients “, stressed prof. Deveja.
The new cardiac surgery service at “Shefqet Ndroqi” Hospital is an investment of the state budget in the amount of 86 million ALL which includes the complete reconstruction of the new operating theatre, intensive care unit and state of the art medical equipment.
