Through a post in the social media, Hoxha emphasized that September 11 is a day that the world will never forget, while remembering nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken without warning and the families whose lives were forever changed.

He also praised the courage of the first intervention forces, who faced danger to save lives.

“The pain of that day was felt far beyond the shores of the United States. It was also deeply felt in Albania,” Hoxha wrote.

The minister underlined the special bond between Albania and the US, emphasizing that for Albanian people the United States has never been simply a friend or an ally, but has stood beside Albania at defining moments of our national journey, in defense of freedom, democracy, human dignity and Albania’s place among free nations.

According to Hoxha, the relationship between the two peoples is based on shared values, mutual respect, strategic partnership and a lasting friendship, which has also endured difficult times.

“Today, we honor those we lost and stand with their families and the American people. We pay tribute to the extraordinary resilience of a nation that, in the face of an unspeakable tragedy, chose to stand together and defend the values ​​that unite us,” he said.

Hoxha also reaffirmed the joint commitment to confronting terrorism, violent extremism and hatred, wherever they threaten peace, freedom and human life.

“Albania stood with the United States on that dark day and we will continue to stand together in defense of freedom, peace and our shared democratic values,” the minister said.
