TIRANA, May  3 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Wednesday that the government is in the process of concluding contracts on the construction of the Blue Corridor, which he described as the most vital axis for the country’s economy.

In a televised interview, Rama said that it is the busiest and most vital axis for the country’s economy and tourism.

“It connects with Kosovo, but also with the tourist ring road of Europe, heading to Muriqan and connecting with Montenegro. It’s the Blue Corridor. We have started with Thumanë – Kashar and in the meantime the competitions have been organized, contracts have been signed for Kashar-Lekaj and Lekaj-Fier. The whole road goes straight to Fier, which then connects with Vlora,” said Rama.

Meanwhile, the Milot-Balldren segment and the Muriqani segment are the last segment for which the financing has not been insured yet.
