The Municipal Council of Tirana approved in early October this year the new criteria for beneficiaries of social housing programs, while applications are expected to be opened.

Deputy Mayor of Tirana Andi Seferi said to reporters that, “There will be about 1,200 loans that will be offered to the citizens of Tirana, but priority will be given to these three categories: spouses up to 40 years old, families of the Roma and Egyptian community, abused women or with other status recognized by the court. But, no family in need is excluded from applying”.

The amount of loan that a family can get depends on how many members it has and is calculated based on current market prices.

“The value of the property has changed, which means that the amount of loan that citizens benefit from must also be indexed. The date of the opening of applications will be made public by the municipality of Tirana”, said Seferi.

Along with this year’s beneficiaries, the number of families supported with soft loans in Tirana in nearly ten years reaches about 5 thousand.

The soft loans program focuses on improving the living conditions of families and young couples, who do not have the economic ability to afford the offer of the free housing market or that of mortgage loans in the market. The purpose of this project is to support families and young couples in buying houses, with the aim of improving their living conditions. /k.s/j.p/p.s./

During this meeting, Seferi highlighted the commitments of the Albanian government for the implementation of progressive policies that promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in every field of life.

Under the chair of Deputy Minister Denada Seferi, during the meeting there were presented important strategies of social protection and inclusion for the period 2024-2030.

The representatives of institutions at the central and local level, representatives of civil society organizations and interest groups, international strategic partners and implementing agencies, evaluated highly the progress made in implementation of social policies.

Deputy Mayor of Tirana Andi Seferi said in an interview for the Albanian Telegraphic Agency that everything is ready in the Albanian capital to host the first and historical final of a European Cup in our country.

He also highlighted the fact that this final is very important for the image of the capital.

Seferi said that, “The institutions must coordinate their actions, so that everything goes smoothly”.

Seferi drew the attention to the fact that there will be an increased influx of people during this challenge and therefore, measures have been taken.

“Tirana will have an increased influx of people. Not only from the “Mother Teresa” airport, but people may come even from land and sea border crossings”, said the deputy mayor.

Seferi said further that there will be 3 “fan zones” in Tirana.

The first fan zone will be for the club of “Roma”, where the fans will be located in the part of the amphitheater of the Grand Park. That will be the first fan zone, he said.

The second fan zone will be for “Feyenoord” fans. The Dutch will come and be escorted to the places where the big screens will be placed near the “Promenade” and the space around “Toptani” centre.

“While the biggest fan zone will be that of “Skanderbeg” square, where it will include sports fans, citizens, tourists who will follow this match”, underlined Seferi.

Seferi stressed that the fans of the teams will not have any contact with each other, as “it is planned that they will be in two separate poles of the city so that to eliminate contact between them”.

Regarding the hotels having no rooms available, Seferi said that, “This is a big event and as it happens in many countries, European capitals, European and world cities, when there are such final matches played, it has happened that even more powerful cities still face the same problems that we are trying to address as much as possible.

There have also been taken measures for the management of traffic, but also safety during the hours before this final.

Seferi also extended a message to the citizens of Tirana for this final to show solidarity and be tolerant so that to have a smooth progress of the match./j.p/p.s./
