Finance Minister said that the prospectus for a corporate bond issuance, the country’s first, “represents a milestone moment for the Albanian capital market, as it allows investors to grow capital and income, contributing also to the sustainable development of the country’s economy.”

Ibrahimaj noted that “the required legal framework is in place and we are that the pioneers of this market will serve as a guide to the successful experience of listing on the Albanian Securities Exchange.”

The first issuance of a public offering provides a new financial instrument to Albania’s capital market, leading to a wider range of financial instruments and is a positive signal for this market’s further development.

Only the government securities have been traded on the exchange until now.

The Albanian Securities Exchange (ALSE) was licensed in July 2017 as the first private securities exchange in the country.

Issuing the securities in an open public offering provides the Albanian investors new investment opportunities to diversify their portfolio.
