TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ — Albania is seeing growing interest from foreign workers, with around 13,000 employed in the country by the end of 2024, according to the National Employment and Skills Agency.

Gertiola Çepani, Director of Labor Market Services, said demand is especially high in hospitality, food services, construction, retail, and light manufacturing.

“Albania is seen as one of the economically developed countries and the interest of foreigners to work in the country has been on the rise. According to official data, over 13, 000 foreigners were employed in Albania by the end of 2024,” Çepani said.

According to her, most sought-after roles include waiters, bartenders, cooks, and kitchen assistants—typically requiring low to medium education levels.

Foreign workers come from a wide range of countries, notably Turkey, Italy, Kosovo, the Philippines, and India.

Digital services offered through the “e-Albania” platform have also streamlined the work permit application process for employers, she noted.
