PRISTINA, September 1/ATA/ With over 220 requests but only 80 seats in the public gallery, space will be tightly limited at the Special Court on September 16, when the verdict against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi is announced. The available seating has been split equally, with 40 seats reserved for close family and 40 for the media. Due to high demand, all other interested parties will need to follow the proceedings via the Court’s official broadcast, reported KosovaPress.

Legal experts are optimistic and anticipate an acquittal.

“Free from political interference, September 16th could well become a day of celebration in Kosovo”, lawyer Skender Musa told the public broadcaster.

Supporters of the former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders share their expectations, expressing hope that the judicial process will culminate in their release and remain free from political influence.

“The KLA was a legitimate military and political force that fought solely for our country’s freedom without targeting civilians,” said Fatmir Sopi, vice president of the KLA Veterans Organization.

A support march under the banner “Kosovo is waiting” has also been announced in Prishtina while September 16 is anticipated to be a pivotal date for Kosovo’s standing in international justice. /KosovaPress/p.s./
