TIRANA, June 3 /ATA/ – With the new tourist season underway, a total of 36 seasonal health centers have been opened across Albania to provide 24/7 accessible medical care to increased flow of visitor during the summer season.

In a post on the social media on Tuesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama underlined that the 36 health centers already operational in country’s main tourist destinations have been equipped with equipment, signage, specialized medical staff, and will operate 24/7.

Strategically located in tourist destinations, these centers will operate until September 30 and their aim is to ensure a safe and healthy tourist experience for both locals and foreign visitors.

As many as 34 seasonal health centres were launched in key tourist areas across Albania last year. This initiative aims to ensure a safe and healthy tourist season for both Albanians and visitors. The centers are supported by existing primary care networks, regional hospitals, and emergency services.

As many as 80 765 medical check-ups were conducted during the period between June 1 and September 30, 2024, with 32% of the patients being foreign nationals.
