TIRANA, February 27/ATA/ The “Mediterranean” exhibition opened at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Tirana (GOCAT). Among those present at the opening event were the Italian Ambassador Marco Alberti and Director of the Italian Institute of Culture Alessandro Ruggera.

The exhibition carries images taken from the most advanced space technology developed by the Italian and European Space Agencies, as well as by Telespazio/e-Geos. Visitors can see extraordinary images, alongside maps and ancient works of art, in a synthesis of culture, art and science, between the past and the present.

“The opportunity to present “Mediterranean” in Tirana was given to us thanks to the declaration of the Albanian capital as the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue for 2025. The Italian Institute of Culture decided to take the opportunity and respond, presenting an exhibition that tells the story of the sea, where there are intertwined the stories of peoples, cultures and civilizations”, Alessandro Ruggera wrote in the social media.

Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana also appreciated “Mediterranean” as an opportunity to reflect on the future of this sea, with the hope that it will continue to be a space of exchange, cooperation and peace.

“Mediterranean” is a comprehensive exhibition that tells the history, beauty and challenges of the Mediterranean, a journey between the past and the future, where modern satellite images are intertwined with old maps, sounds and emotional installations. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, May 1/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama guaranteed today that this will be the best season of clean bathing waters in the country’s seas and lakes, while he focused on the drastic measures that have been imposed on enterprises that pollute the waters.

During the visit to the Ferrochrome plant of the AlbChrome in Elbasan, the prime minister said that, “We do not claim that there will be no defects, but following introduction of drastic measures on all enterprises in the field of hotel and hospitality industry, we are seeing results that convince us that the next season will be perfect in this aspect, as well”.

Rama highlighted the fact that we are in a new phase where Albania has successfully passed the EU scanning process and has made strong commitments regarding the environment.

Rama emphasized that it is a national and institutional responsibility to respect, protect and improve the quality of the environment.

“Laws on extended producer responsibility and integrated waste management are an example of this new phase. These laws are under development and will soon be passed to the Parliament”, said Rama.

Speaking on environmental protection, the prime minister emphasized that the protected area in our country has increased from 17% to 22%.

“In the same way, the control combined with drastic measures against enterprises is yielding positive results. It is enough to take the example of the drastic ban on the discharge of polluted water into the bathing waters of the seas and lakes, which has brought about a general commitment of hotel enterprises to guarantee the treatment and filtration of polluted water and to stop the ecological terror that has characterized for many years the development of tourism and hotel infrastructure with the discharge of polluted water into the sea”, said Rama./p.s./
