He represents government policies in the field of local government and coordinates work with international organizations and partners that support the development of local government units.

He directs and coordinates the work between the structures set up in the framework of inter-institutional relations with local government units and associations of local elected officials.

He follows up the fulfillment of obligations, as well as monitors and coordinates the measures deriving from the process of integration into the European Union and international agreements, as far as they are concerned with local government.
