On September 12, among the 12 new schools that are set to open their doors at the beginning of the new school year, is the “Bashkim Fino” school in administrative unit 2. Tirana mayor said that another jewel will be added to the capital to host 1100 students in a few days.

“When I think that two-shift classes were a common occurrence since we were children, I am glad that for the first time this year two-shift schools will not be a matter of concern any more. We have built a school with a capacity of 1100 students, plus 150 preschoolers, we have solved not only the problems of the past and present, but also of the future. So we have left a space that can accommodate the demographic trends of the unit,” said Veliaj.

Veliaj also said that the message that comes from this school, which is named after a great man like Bashkim Fino, who united Albanians even in challenging times, is that we should no longer allow people who divide us even in the best of times to take the reins.

“When I remember that Bashkim Fino was there to unite us in the days when we were divided, I believe that it is a very significant message for those politicians who have held all the posts for 30 years on end, Albania owes them nothing, on the contrary it he has made them presidents, prime ministers, parliament speakers to learn a little from this great name, who in the most difficult days brought Albanians together. Today we are at our best and yet there are people who want to divide us and take us back. This is not going to happen. As long as we give the children quality schools and make sure that we no longer have spies at the helm and a new generation will take charge, grown up in completely different conditions, open-minded, doesn’t do things out of ill will, but works with passion, I believe that these schools are a promise kept for children of our unit,” Veliaj concluded his speech.
