Damaged by the devastating November 26, 2019 earthquake, this school is being built back bigger, more beautiful and resilient.

“Good morning and with the “Sami Frashëri” high school which, would allegedly be razed to the ground to build an apartment block, instead this September will be ready for the students, I wish you all a nice week ahead,” Rama said.

Built in the ’60s, the “Sami Frashëri” high school in Tirana was severely damaged by the earthquake. The new building will be more than 4 times larger in the area of the new entrance hall as well as the library which will have a capacity for 100 people. In contrast to the old building, the project will include a new auditorium encompassing 140 m2 with a capacity of 100 people. Also, a warehouse and technical premises with an area of 500 m2 will be added to the building. The school will also have a room dedicated to the doctor and one to the psychologist. Meanwhile, the number of sanitary facilities on each floor has increased.

Also the gym and sports facilities will occupy a considerable space, twice as big as it was.
