In his speech to the SP Parliamentary group and the government cabinet, Rama said that, “Soon, the first appearance of “Pasqyrë Albania” will be in a matter of weeks, because there is a great job underway to build this whole new architecture based on artificial intelligence”.

In this specific case, the topic of Sazan and Nartë-Pishë Poro, not Nartë-Vjosa, -there is no Nartë-Vjosa, this is fake news, Nartë-Vjosa is on the other side- everything on Nartë-Pishë Poro will all be published with all the relevant documents attached, with the minutes data, with the status of the negotiations, with the legal references for all the points raised as a problem and then it will be enriched step by step with the project, with the environmental study, with everything”, Rama underlined.

So, Rama added, whoever in Albanian or in English, as this issue is of great interest even to English speakers, can enter into the “Flamingo Mirror” and can find everything there related to the topic.

“Yes, definitely the “Flamingo Mirror” is an active mirror, which means it is there alive to answer questions. And if there is something that is not found, according to someone there, “Flamingo Mirror” must give an explanation. In this way, we will move forward with all issues and all projects that have a special interest”, said Rama.

The head of government stated that, “Every project for which a small amount of taxpayers’ money is spent will be in the mirror in addition to the institutions and spending contracting authorities.

Sazan Island is, and always will be, Albanian state property; it is not for sale. Instead of selling the land, the government plans to participate in a joint investment to develop it into a luxury destination, allowing the state to retain ownership and collect a share of the returns.

Regarding the Zvërnec project, the prime minister stated that the initiative officially materialized in 2024 when developers submitted a master plan to the National Council of Territory (KKT), which was subsequently presented on the Opinion TV show by one of the project’s architects.

According to the prime minister, Albania is experiencing a phenomenon that other countries have experienced before due to the influence of social networks.

Rama addressed all citizens who have concerns about the impact of investments on the environment and biodiversity, inviting them to look closely at the facts.

The prime minister emphasized that there is no strategic investor status for the investment in question and that the process for Sazan is still in the negotiation phase.

He explained that the negotiations have been going on for a long time because the government represents the interests of the Republic of Albania and not the investors.

Responding to criticism from the opposition and opponents of the investment, Rama stated that the government is acting in defense of the national interests.

According to Rama, what this ruling majority is doing is done only by worthy representatives of a people.

The prime minister said that the state institutions have set strict requirements for the protection of the environment and biodiversity.

According to Rama, the goal is for Albania to create competitive tourist destinations in the Mediterranean region.

“We don’t have a deal yet, let alone a project. We’ve been negotiating for two years because the island of Sazan isn’t for sale, and to their credit, the developers have never asked to buy it”, said Rama, adding that this is the truth.

Even if they had asked, the prime minister emphasized, we have never thought of alternatives to sell the island of Sazan.

The head of government said that, “The agreement establishes a joint venture between the investor and the Republic of Albania”.

“They claim the government is only negotiating the building, not the island itself, but that’s a flawed excuse. Apartment owners own their units, but not the surrounding land. This Sazan Island project feels like selling off our national heritage to private interests for luxury towers. It’s madness, and it’s deeply frustrating to watch unfold”, said Rama.

The head of government stated that it is quite the opposite.

“We are negotiating with the Albanian Investment Corporation to secure a state-owned equity share in the project. Since the exact development outline for the island depends on these terms, the agreement must be signed before any project blueprints are presented”, said Rama. /k.s/j.p/p.s./

A boat trip to this park offers tourists the opportunity to spend a different day in the bay of Vlora.

“The primaries will be announced soon; they are open to Albanians wherever they live, in Albania, the diaspora and wherever they are”, said Berisha about the opposition preparations for the upcoming general elections of May 11.

Regarding the out-of-the-country vote, Berisha said that, “We will do the utmost for a transparent process.”

Regarding investments in the island of Sazan, Berisha said that PM Rama is using it to buy political influence.

“Since at least 2001 until today, Sazan has been offered to foreign businessmen periodically. This is the routine offer, which without doubt Edi Rama made to buy political influence. But, we do not oppose an offer that meets the legal rules; we do not oppose offers that are based on respecting the laws and regulations of the country”, said Berisha.

According to AIDA, the project is in the stage of assistance from the Albanian Investment Development Agency, regarding meeting of the criteria.

“The Atlantic Incubator Partners LLC” Company has submitted to AIDA an expression of interest for building of a tourist resort on the island of Sazan”, said AIDA.

According to the agency, the preliminary request was submitted on December 27, 2023.

“In accordance with the provisions of law no. 55/2015, “On strategic investments in the Republic of Albania” as amended, every interested investment subject, private, domestic or foreign legal entity, has the right to request the inclusion of an investment project in the administrative procedures of strategic investments in order to obtain the status of “Strategic investment/investor, assisted procedure” or “Strategic investment/investor, special procedure”, AIDA clarified for ATA.

“The interested entities, which request the inclusion of their investment projects in the administrative procedures of strategic investments, submit, for this purpose, a written request to AIDA, together with the relevant documentation. AIDA, in the role of the assisting agent, in implementation of the duties defined in this law, follows all the administrative procedures provided from the moment of submission of the request for inclusion in the administrative procedures for the benefit of the “Investment/strategic investor” status until the end of all administrative procedures, provided by this law. Currently, the project in question is in the process of assistance at our institution and we are assessing all the legal criteria provided by the legislation for strategic investments, namely gov. decision No. 1026, dated 16.12.2015 “On the evaluation of documentation”, AIDA said.

“Regarding the project review process, we inform you that since the project is still in the assistance phase, the subject will first have to submit all the complete documentation, in reference to Gov. Decision No. 1026, dated 16.12.2015. The entity must submit all the information once according to the strategic investment legislation. The working group is set up in a second phase, after the submission of complete documentation”, AIDA continued.

“Regarding the application of the Zvrnec project, we say that no expression of interest has been submitted to AIDA”, AIDA confirmed to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency.

The son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump, the American entrepreneur Jared Kushner, published on social networks his ambition to invest in tourist resorts on the island of Sazan and the area of Zvrnec in Albania. The investments amount to over 1 billion Euros./p.s./

Speaking to reporters from the Socialist Party headquarters, Rama underlined that the idea of a project in Sazan was born before he became prime minister.

“I am aware that we have a fantastic offer on the table today with tremendous potential, which we will evaluate in accordance with the law. We will examine it as the worthy representatives of the Albanian people, who do not negotiate according to personal interests, but negotiate according to the interests of the public at every step, as we did in the port of Durrës, where the public is a part through the Albanian state”, he said.

Asked what Albanians gain from this process, Rama said that, “Albanians are gaining from everything we are doing in this process and will gain what was unimaginable until a few years ago.

According to the prime minister, “The promotion and realization of these developments enriches Albanians and increases the economy of Albania”.

“Tourism is an industry that stimulates the production chain. Foreigners who visit Albania to rest here consume what the farmers produce and what those who are in the service offer you. They consume what the whole chain of services creates. Present-day Albania, fortunately for everyone and unfortunately for the sick minds, is a completely different country. Today, we are discussing a project and proposal that would have been unimaginable a few years ago”, said Rama.

The prime minister emphasized that today we are discussing the excellence of world tourism that seeks to enter Albania.

“Today, we are discussing an Albania which, through these developments becomes a direct competitor of those who are the ‘lions’ of the Mediterranean that we have all around, from Croatia, Montenegro and up to Greece”, said Rama./r.e/p.s./

According to Ndreca, strategic investments from the USA add value not only to the country’s economy, but also to the economic and political relations between the two allied countries.

“Not that he is former president Donald Trump’s son-in-law, but he is an American investor and being so he influences the inter-state relations between the two countries. Sazani island is a gem, but for 30 years it has not been exploited; it has not been used”, said Ndreca.

According to him, the Sazan island project has been submitted to the Foreign Investment Agency (AIDA) and there is expected the evaluation of this offer.

“The prime minister has explained it in a crystal clear way. There is an interest expressed from an investor, like Mr. Kushner. He has applied to AIDA and it is a project that will be evaluated like every other project. But, it remains to be evaluated their offer; it must be seen how this offer complies with the law on strategic investments and then it will be forwarded to the government, where it will be evaluated how this project will be continued”, emphasized Ndreca.

He said that, “There is absolutely no official request for Zvërnec until now; no one has submitted a request for strategic investment there. But, it has been confirmed that there is a request for Sazan”.

The MP of the Socialist Party highlighted that the law on strategic investments has turned the country into an investment space for world-renowned brands./r.e/p.s./

In these hot June days, many tourists prefer to spend a few hours in this marine park, which in recent years has become a favorite tourist destination.

Lorenc Rexhepaj, the captain of the port of Vlora, said to ATA that, “During the month of May, 1037 local and foreign tourists traveled to Sazan-Karaburun, while in June 2743 local and foreign tourists”.
