Proda and the accompanying delegation were received in a meeting by Al-Bassami and senior officials of the Saudi Arabian Police.

During their discussion, Al-Bassami stated, “We are interested in deepening our cooperation with the Albanian Police, not only in the field of public order and safety, but across all areas of mutual interest.”

The General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, emphasized that “The Albanian State Police prioritizes the expansion and strengthening of international relations with all partners and law enforcement agencies. We are committed to working together in the fight against organized crime, terrorism, and economic and cyber crimes, which have now become global challenges.”

During the meeting, both directors emphasized the need to expand relations between the two police forces in areas of mutual interest.

Proda stated that “the previously signed MoU in the field of security has established a solid foundation for advancing concretely and sustainably toward a strategic partnership. The Albanian State Police views the exchange of experience with the Saudi Arabian Police as highly valuable, particularly in key areas such as public order management, the fight against terrorism and organized crime, cybersecurity, and the protection of sensitive spaces.”

Proda stated, “The Saudi approach, particularly in handling security for large-scale pilgrimages and employing artificial intelligence for risk prevention, serves as a valuable model that we aim to adopt and cooperate with closely.”

He added, “We stand ready to intensify joint training sessions, develop pilot projects, and work on enhancing technical and professional capacities for the benefit of both our countries.”

Proda further stated, “The proposal to establish direct communication channels between the operational units of both police forces, through joint action plans and training initiatives, represents a concrete step toward deepening cooperation.” He also emphasized that Albania remains a reliable partner in the Balkan region with a clear Euro-Atlantic commitment.

“We are determined to build a sustainable and long-term relationship with the Saudi Police, founded on mutual respect, institutional trust, and shared interests in security and stability,” Proda emphasized.

Proda expressed confidence that this visit will serve as a cornerstone for future steps benefiting the security of citizens.

The General Director of Public Security, Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Bassami, praised Director Proda’s readiness and determination to collaborate without barriers with international partners, especially with Saudi Arabia, across all areas of mutual interest.

He assured Director Proda of his full support for the Albanian Police through training, logistical assistance, and collaborative investigative efforts in combating global crimes, pursuant to the 2023 security cooperation agreement signed between the two nations.

During the visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Albanian delegation held meetings with public security officials from Mecca and Medina, sharing experiences on managing large-scale events.
