TIRANA, Jan  16 /ATA/  – By  I. Vata/ Parliament Speaker, Lindita Nikolla, received the delegation of the friendship group with Albania of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, headed by Dr. Fayez bin Abdullah Al Shahri, Chairman of the group.

Also in attendance of the meeting was the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Albania,  Mr. Faisal Ghazi Ismail Hifzi.

Parliament  Speaker Nikolla thanked the friends from the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia and appreciated the friendship group’s contribution to strengthening parliamentary and bilateral cooperation.

Nikolla underlined that Albania and Saudi Arabia have excellent relations, which have been materialized in high-level visits, and expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s help in coping with the aftermath of the 2019 earthquake and the pandemic, as well as appreciated the contribution of Saudi Fund for Development to upgrading the infrastructure and road system in Albania and assistance in other sectors. Parliament Speaker Nikolla expressed her gratitude for the recognition of Kosovo by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and for supporting its role in the field of international relations.

Also, Nikolla pointed out that the cooperation between the Assembly of Albania and the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia at the level of friendship groups, parliamentary committees, deputies and high-level visits will promote relations between our countries in the sectors of economic development, defense and promotion of investments, infrastructure, environment, tourism, etc.

Parliament Speaker Nikolla invited the President of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, to make an official visit to the Assembly of Albania.

The chairman of the friendship group, Dr. Fayez bin Abdullah Al Shahri, thanked Parliament Speaker Nikolla for the warm welcome and appreciation of the parliamentary and bilateral cooperation between Albania and Saudi Arabia and noted that during this very successful visit to Albania, the parliamentary friendship group expressed its commitment to support and promote parliamentary cooperation, comprehensive bilateral cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.
