TIRAN	A, Jan 23 /ATA/ The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, continued his consultations with farmers for the development of the 2026 National Scheme. Today, he held meetings in the Shkodër district, with stops in Shkodër and Malësi e Madhe, to engage in direct dialogue with farmers on the sector’s real needs.
During the consultation with farmers, Minister Salla highlighted the importance of direct dialogue to address existing challenges and to develop a fairer and more inclusive scheme.
“During the regular consultation with farmers, we are engaging in an open discussion about the areas that have not functioned effectively, and we are designing the 2026 National Scheme with a focus on security, inclusivity, and addressing the support that has been previously lacking,” stated the minister.
He emphasized that the 2026 National Scheme will be anchored in clear and equitable principles for all farmers. “A scheme with transparent and equal regulations for all, aligned with European Union standards, ensuring fair payments, and strengthening the sector to be more resilient, competitive, and sustainable,” stated Salla.
During the meetings in Shkodër and Malësi e Madhe, Minister Salla was accompanied by the respective mayors, while the discussions with farmers focused on the real needs and suggestions for improving public support for the agricultural sector.
The consultation tour for the 2026 National Scheme will extend to other regions of the country, with the goal of developing support policies grounded in the direct input of farmers and in full alignment with European Union standards.
