To share this news with the employees of the relevant structures, as well as to outline the government’s plan, Prime Minister Rama, together with Minister of Interior Bledi Çuçi and Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja held a meeting at the Security Academy.

Prime Minister Rama explained that the increase in salaries will be executed in two stages within a span of one year, benefiting 12,120 employees of the State Police and the Guard of the Republic, as well as 3,566 employees of the Penitentiary Police system.

“In the first year, the salary increase for you who are in this system including 12,120 employees of the State Police and the Republican Guard, as well as 3,566 employees of the Penitentiary Police system, will be more or less as following. Bear in mind that the salary of each tier is not the same for everyone because of seniority, there are some other conditions. So, today the salary of the major director is 139,375 ALL and with the monthly 48,125 increase, it goes up to 187,500 ALL. For the directors lower down in the hierarchy the raise is 24 125 and the salary goes up to 137 500, for the commander the raise is 21 thousand lek, so in this case and it goes up to 112 500. For the first inspector it goes up to 97,500,” Rama said.

Prime Minister Rama said that “I deemed it necessary to come and inform you myself, so that in some way we make sure you are immune to misleading news and disinformation. You all received a pay raise last year, we told you it was a raise that would continue incrementally and now we are getting ready for a significant raise. It is, in fact, the largest wage raise in history having created an opportunity to afford this and on this occasion I want to tell everyone that the honest employees of the State Police, officers in all security systems , including the penitentiary system, definitely deserved more and definitely deserve more and this is our conviction.”
