In a media statement, the State Police highlighted that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss and take steps towards improving the coordination of responsibilities, with the goal of achieving one of the Police’s key priorities: ensuring children’s safety.

According to the announcement, some of the topics discussed during the meeting included: the safety of students within and around school premises; road safety near schools; cybersecurity and the protection of children online; ensuring safety during social activities involving children and young people; and cooperation between the parents’ community and the State Police.

The Director General highly appreciated the meeting and the recommendations presented by the Parents’ Council of Tirana, as they focused on the safety of children, who represent the future of the country. He assured the Parents’ Council that State Police structures countrywide are fully dedicated to collaborating and coordinating efforts with all parties involved in ensuring school safety.

During the meeting, Director Proda emphasized that school safety is a top priority for the State Police. He highlighted the importance of addressing even minor conflicts among students in collaboration with security officers, school principals, and parents’ boards. Proda also gave specific instructions to increase monitoring in schools, particularly during the final weeks of the school year, by working closely with security officers, social workers, and municipal police.
