“Through its implementing partner, East West Management Institute, the U.S. Embassy supports the High Court’s efforts to address the backlog, which has a serious impact on the lives of Albanian citizens awaiting justice,” the Embassy said in a press statement.

The project, “Backlog Reduction and Efficient Court Processes in the High Court,” has assisted the Court in developing and implementing measures to more efficiently adjudicate cases.

“Rockwell and Sadushi also discussed issues such as limited workspace, a shortage of court support staff, and the lack of space to store cases pending adjudication. Rockwell agreed there is an urgent need for High Judicial Council and the High Court to work with the government to address this problem,” the Embassy said.
