TIRANA, March 19/ATA/ Interior Minister Taulant Balla received today the US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Todd D. Robinson

During the meeting, Balla expressed thanks to the Assistant Secretary of State for the excellent cooperation with law enforcement agencies and assistance programs of the United States of America, INL, ICITAP and DEA.

“With their support, we have successfully concluded a series of joint investigative operations; we have held training for police officers and the Police Surveillance Agency and have built capacities in the field of cyber security. The fight against organized crime and improvement of the public safety remains a top priority while the crackdown on criminal groups continues to intensify every day. The complex investigations in cooperation with SPAK or general jurisdiction prosecutors in the regions are dismantling groups involved in serious events, such as murder, traffic or money laundering. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with the Interpol, we are working every day to put an end to impunity, tracking, locating and capturing internationally wanted persons, wherever they are”, said the Minister of the Interior.

He also confirmed that there will be more efforts to improve the results in the fight against human trafficking through the National Referral Mechanism, with the contribution of justice institutions, law enforcement bodies and civil society./p.s./
