Reports from the Civil Protection System at the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies indicate that the “Arbri” road in the Dibra district is currently blocked at Murriz Pass due to heavy snowfall. Contracting companies are working to reopen the route.

“Several administrative centers in the Dibër municipality, including Lurë, Selishtë, Luzni, Kala e Dodës, and Zall Dardhë, have been cut off, along with the main routes.”

In the Bulqiza municipality, the administrative units of Ostren and Trebisht are cut off.

In the Klos municipality, the secondary roads connecting the villages to the administrative centers of Suç, Gurë, and Xibër are blocked.

In the Mat municipality, several village roads leading to the administrative centers of Macukull, Lis, Derjan, and Komsi are impassable.

The Ministry of Defense reports that the Peshkopi-Ulëz road, at the Qafë Ulëz area, was blocked due to snow, ice, and vehicles moving without winter tires. However, traffic is now moving normally.

The rural roads linking the Fushë-Arrëz municipality to the Iballë administrative unit and its villages are impassable.

On the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë road, at the “Murrash” curves, debris accummulated on the road due to adverse weather conditions. In Qafë Thanë, snowfall has made it challenging for heavy vehicles to pass.

Throughout the night and this morning, work is well underway to clear and salt the Qafë Thanë – Pogradec road. Traffic is proceeding with winter tires.

On the Tiranë-Elbasan road, at the tunnel exit, traffic was disrupted due to wet and icy conditions. Traffic was limited to one lane. Salt has been applied throughout the night and today, and traffic is now proceeding with winter tires.

In the Krujë municipality, the Cudhi Kamp-Qafështamë road is blocked due to snowfall.

On the Vuno – Himarë road, at the location known as the Vishë Bridge, a rockslide has occurred. The road is passable in one lane, and work is underway to clear the other lane.

The road to Shëngjergj, in the Tiranë municipality, is difficult to pass due to the heavy snowfall.

In Lanabregas, the clogging of collector, has caused water backup, threatening to flood a house.

On the Fresku – Trau Dajt segment, at kilometer 5, a landslide occurred, blocking one of the lanes. Efforts are underway to clear the road.

The situation in the Vlorë municipality is normal, and there is no water accumulation in the city.

Today, snow plows are working to keep the passable roads open and to clear the roads blocked by snow.

The OSSHE teams are working to restore electricity as soon as possible in several remote areas.

Regarding the situation in rivers and reservoirs, according to reports from local civil protection structures, all rivers and reservoirs are within their normal levels and do not pose any risk, except for the village of Murqinë, in the Bubq administrative unit, Krujë municipality, where the Ishëm River has burst its banks, flooding an area of 20 hectares of agricultural land.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that, at Qafa e Murrizit (Arbri Road), a vehicle with 3 people was blocked by snow.

Early in the morning, a bulldozer and an ambulance were dispatched. Emergency teams are working to assist the stranded citizens.

The weather forecast for the upcoming period predicts a mix of moderate to dense cloud cover, with occasional brief clear spells, particularly over the Western Lowlands. Light rain is expected to impact most of the region, with isolated, brief showers lasting until midday.

After midday, the intensity of the rainfall is expected to gradually decrease. In the northeastern, eastern, and southern mountainous areas, snowfall will occur at altitudes above 400-600 meters, with low to moderate intensity.

Isolated snowstorms are forecasted in the Alps and high mountain regions during brief periods.

Dense fog is likely due to the mix of snow and rain, with strong frost expected along roadways, especially in the mountainous areas.

The wind will blow from the northeast to the east at an average speed of 4-14 m/s. Along the coastal line and in the valley areas, the wind speed will range from 16-26 m/s.

Extreme temperatures are expected to fluctuate. In the mountainous areas, the minimum temperatures will drop to -6°C, while the maximum temperatures will rise to -2°C.

In the lowland areas, the minimum temperatures will drop to -2°C, while the maximum temperatures will reach up to 7°C.

The National Agency for Civil Protection is closely monitoring the situation in the north and Vlorë, and is in continuous communication with all structures of the Civil Protection System to address any emergency situation that may arise due to adverse weather conditions, according to the Ministry of Defense’s press release. /j.p/sm/
