Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images on social media from the construction site of the Shirokë-Zogaj road, emphasizing that the project is “one of the long-awaited strategic investments for the development of the Shkodra area, which is set to be completed this year.”

According to Rama, the road will create “a new connection between Albania and Montenegro, as well as boost the tourism sector in the northern capital.”

This project is being implemented by the company “ALB Star,” which was awarded the 4.7 million euro contract. The works are set to be completed by October 2, 2025.

The Shirokë-Zogaj road – New border point with Montenegro (Krajë) is part of the mosaic of investments along the western shore of Lake Shkodra. This road is expected to boost tourism in the area, in addition to improving access to infrastructure for local communities. /j.p/sm/
