According to her, the river rehabilitation will be made using wired baskets filled with various rocks or soil that help prevent flooding along a distance of 350 m. Thus, the lands of farmers in the area are guaranteed.

Denaj said that 7.4 billion lekë have been invested in the rehabilitation of about 120 km of embankments along the main rivers of the country (Drin, Buna, Mat, Shkumbin, Osum, Seman, Vjosa etc.).

Meanwhile, there have already been adjusted about 30 km of high water channels and river and stream beds.

“By protecting lands from floods, we increase production yield and add value to Made in Albania products, making them more competitive in international markets”, said Minister Denaj. /j.p/p.s./

According to the data published by the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE), the energy produced by the hydropower plants on the Drini River cascade for the entire year 2024 is calculated at 5,131,482 megawatt-hours.

The data provided from the ERE show that in total, the citizens, businesses and institutions consumed 7,875,861 megawatt-hours of energy.

Meanwhile, the total losses in the distribution network are calculated at 18.9%.

The government is promoting investments in wind and solar energy sources and the goal is for Albania to return to a net exporting country in 2030. /r.e/p.s./
