TIRANA, Nov 5 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the investment that is taking shape on the Gjanica riverbed and the segments along it, transitioning from pollution to a green breath for the city of Fier.

Rama shared on social media pictures of the transformation that is taking shape in the second segment of the Gjanica river, creating, as the PM says, after decades of waste and pollution, a new way of breathing for the villages and areas on both sides of the river.

“The transformation of the second segment of Gjanica has restored a riverbed sub-merged by bushes, reeds and garbage piled up for decades, creating a new green breathing route that crosses Revitalized Fier and gives citizens the opportunity to walk down a long pedestrianized zone,” writes Rama.

The rehabilitation of the second segment of the Gjanica river will further complete the mosaic of urban transformation that is taking place in the city of Fier. The second phase is being implemented along a length of 2 kilometers and is in follow-up to the investment for the river restoration. This project aims to transform the Gjanica river into one of the most important natural assets of the urban area in the city of Fier.
