TIRANA, Dec 5 /ATA/ The National Agency of Protected Areas (NAPA) has increased its revenues fourfold over the past three to four years.

This was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama during a meeting focused on the prioritisation of environment and forests, set to enter a new phase through a one of a kind model of management and sustainable development.

Rama emphasised that revenues have quadrupled as a result of the electronic revenue management system, which, according to him, will be extended across the entire territory.

The Agency of Protected Areas has quadrupled its own revenues in the last three to four years. An analysis of these revenue streams shows that the potential is considerably greater,’ Rama added.
“Approximately 70 per cent of this fourfold increase in revenue collection is generated by three sites — the Blue Eye, Kune-Vain, and Mount Dajti. This increase is attributed not only to visitor numbers, as other locations also see high footfall, but primarily to the electronic revenue management system, which has resulted into a significant qualitative leap. This, in turn, makes the rollout of the system across the entire territory indispensable,” Rama stated.
