TIRANA, Dec 7 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast “Flasim” focused on the story of a family that returned from immigration and started their own family business in Albania.

The 13th episode of season 3 of the “Flasim” podcast, titled “Never again in immigration,” featured Etleva and Aldo, a mother and son, as guests of Prime Minister Rama. They shared their immigration experience and explained the reasons behind their decision to return to Albania and invest there.

They discussed the challenges they encountered along their journey, starting in Kutalli, Berat, where they opened their first pastry shop in Albania, as well as the difficulties brought on by the pandemic, when everything was shut down and their business nearly went bankrupt.

Etleva says that the decision not to return to immigration had already been made. Despite their initiative failing in their hometown of Kutalli, they chose to give it another try by investing in Tirana, where they opened a pastry shop, a venture that turned out to be successful.

According to Etleva, the changes that have taken place in Albania were the main driving force behind their decision to return and invest here.

“Just a few days ago, I was in Berat, and everything there looked beautiful. I want to give a big ‘bravo,'” she said.

The Prime Minister stated that he has contributed as much as possible to the transformation of Berat.

“When we were out of office, it seemed unacceptable that we had been endowed with treasures like Berat and Gjirokastra, yet they were in such poor condition. You couldn’t even reach Berat because there were no roads,” said Rama.

According to them, the advantages provided by the government through tax cuts for small businesses made investing in Albania very attractive.

“I’ve said it before, but no one believes me; they say I’m doing propaganda. This is a phase in Albania where anyone with a little courage to invest their savings from immigration hits the ‘jackpot’ here, not just in Tirana, but everywhere. Albania offers opportunities to do business with small investments everywhere. Suffice it to mention the case of agritourism,” said Rama. /a.g/sm/
