TIRANA, June 19 /ATA/ – The Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu visited the University of Medicine in Tirana to inaugurate two significant investments funded by the Ministry of Education and Sports through the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation.

The “Digitalization of Virtual Dissection and restructuring of the Laboratory Unit of Anatomy” and “Digitalization of the Laboratory Unit of Histology” projects have been implemented through a funding of about 35.5 million lek in a bid to modernize the laboratories at the Normal Anatomy and Histology in the Faculty of Medicine.

The two projects are designed to improve the didactic infrastructure, improve teaching standards and meet the needs of scientific research in the areas cof Applied and Clinical Anatomy, as well as in Histology-Embryology.

“Developing aspects of scientific research and didactic infrastructure is very important as it has direct impact on the teaching quality. We are convinced these three components have been addressed best through the government and the Ministry of Education policies. The government has increased scientific research funding by over 40% and three projects have been now implemented at the Medicine University,” Manastirliu said.

The Education Minister said that investing in projects on scientific research infrastructure is a top priority.

“A funding of over 500 000 euros will be disbursed for the Medicine University this year to support medicine and medical science in the country,” she added.
