TIRANA, Dec 5 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku is attending the Ministerial held within the framework of COP 28, in the United Arab Emirates.
In a media statement, Balluku said that 123 countries have signed a joint declaration, which includes real commitments for each government.
“Today was another important day at COP 28 that is taking place in Dubai. A week totally dedicated to climate change and all the actions that need to be taken globally to save planet earth. It featured meetings of leaders from all over the world, but it has continued with other meetings at the Ministerial level, as was the case today, where 123 countries have signed a joint statement, which includes real commitments for every government”, said Balluku.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that “one of the most important commitments is to triple the global installed renewable energy capacity on a global scale by 2023 by an average 11 thousand gigawatts”.
Also, Balluku added, “we committed ourselves that in the coming years we will have an increase in energy efficiency protection by 2%, from 2% to 4%.” In the meantime, energy efficiency should be at the top of the list of every project, every policy and every government commitment for these 123 countries that have signed this declaration.”
Deputy Prime Minister Balluku stated that, “to achieve all these, states are committed to adopt their local policies and also set high targets and focus on increasing renewable energy capacities, as well as efficiency of energy.”
Also, she continued, “123 countries have committed to recognize and address the need for closer international cooperation, based on innovation and new technologies used for energy production, but also for energy efficiency.”

“
“It must be said that at this high-level table, all the ministers, representatives of energy and climate for 123 countries clearly stated that every country should customize this policy, thus achieving all the targets for the future”, said Balluku.
“During the Ministerial held within the framework of COP 28, today on behalf of the Albanian Government and on behalf of Prime Minister Rama, I rolled out all the achievements in the energy field in terms of the diversification of renewables that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has undertaken, of course, all the new projects, which will contribute to those targets that I mentioned, but also to the policies that the Albanian Government will launch in the future and especially all the incentives we have given for the efficiency of energy, convinced that it is the key to success to reach all possible targets,” Deputy Prime Minister Balluku said.
